KATHY DOUGHTY- Taking Shape
Free yourself from being a slave to instructions and learn to practice following your own instincts! In this workshop we will work with 60 degree shapes in a variety of scales and layouts to create individual contemporary quilt designs! Explore triangles, diamonds, hexagons and more using acrylic templates and your choice of fabric. Using templates allows us to cut accurately and then sewing accurately is easy! We will work on a design wall and watch the pattern evolve over time. The other wonderful aspect of playing with shapes is that it allows us to focus on fabric choices.
We will examine fabric in regard to color, value, print and character with a view to let the fabric do the work! Several different patterns and ideas will be presented for you to choose from but the outcome is up to you!
