Art Start - More Organic Applique...

Inspiration is everywhere.  In this workshop we will examine an existing work of art and work out how to recreate the colors, lines, shapes and intent while adding ourselves into the mix.  You will enjoy discovering details and points of interest as we dissect the image and use simple organic applique techniques to recreate the mood either literally or figuratively.  Part of the process is to work in solids then to move on to more challenging print fabrics all the while cementing our understanding of color.  This process cements the maker’s understanding of value, tone and scale of fabrics. 

Techniques used in the class will include the basic Organic Applique process of transferring the design to applique paper.  The class is mostly hand work but there may be some areas you may want to use a sewing machine.

Choose to make one large piece or make several studies of the same subject…the choice is up to you but the outcome is fun!
