Monthly Design Classes

Thinking Outside the Square - Monthly Tuesday 10:00 - 2:00pm - Kathy Doughty
Although we look to our quilting sisters of the past for inspiration we need not struggle to put our quilts together. The square is simply beautiful but there are lots of other shapes out there to explore and use. We use a variety of tools to get the job done here, exploring with different templates and rulers to see what they all can do. The great tools available make even the most complicated blocks a dream to put together in this class. Make guided fabric selections and start cutting!

Stash Management - Monthly Tuesday 10:00 - 2:00pm - Kathy Doughty
Bring your favourite fabrics from home and try a variety of pattern options in strip piecing to make scrap style quilts. Lots of old favourites loose their appeal but can easily be spiced up with the right stash stimulators.

Designers Circle - Monthly Wednesday 10:00 -2:00 pm - Kathy Doughty
Forget using a pattern, throw caution to the wind and discover how to make quilts from your own idea. This class is anything goes in a guided environment. If you have been doing other people's patterns for years and want to test your design skills try this class. Show and Tell is an important part of this class as we review what is being said in each project and get valuable insight from others as quilts grow from ideas.

Intuitive Colour and Design – interested in making an art quilt? In this class we use Jean Wells book, Intuitive Colour and Design as a text book and explore the use of colour and line in making quilts that say something about us!
